5. Best Couple
HOW DO I COMPETE?
Get creative with your costume and compete in the Grand Costume Competition both Friday and Saturday night! There will be a reservation table near the front entrance. Sign in at the table and our staff will take a photograph of you in your costume. There are six categories including Scariest, Funniest, Sexiest, Most Original, Best Couple and [just added] Best Group. Six judges [one per each category] will peruse the photos and select their top six contestants. During the evening, each judge will locate and notify the top six contestants in their respective category that they’ve been chosen to compete on stage. If you enter the competition, you must be available to come on stage for judging when your name is called. Once on stage, the final winners of each category will be selected by costume ball attendees. The noise from applause and cheers of the audience will be measured in decibels by a digital “Applause-O-Meter” that will be displayed in real time on stage. Get more info about costuming and the event at our FAQ’s page HERE.
SIGN UPS FOR THE GRAND COSTUME COMPETITION ARE FROM 7pm to 9pm EACH NIGHT! $100 awarded to each category!
Check out the fan-made video by Adri Rodriguez who produces a cool VLOG (video blog) about the Central Coast and who attended our inaugural costume ball in 2017 at Tooth & Nail Castle. Adri was also one the “Most Sexy” category in the Grand Costume Competition Friday evening.
Please note, we’re moving the costume ball to the Paso Robles Event Center [Adelaide Hall Building] at the Mid-State Fairgrounds.
